Indication: Ubiquinol acetate is indicated primarily for treating CoQ10 deficiencies and for its antioxidant properties

Mechanism of action:

Deacetylation: Upon oral ingestion, Ubiquinol acetate is hydrolysed by enzymes called esterases, mainly in the duodenum and small intestine. This process removes the acetate group, converting it back to the bioactive form, Ubiquinol.

Absorption: Ubiquinol is fat-soluble and is absorbed in the small intestine. To facilitate this, it is incorporated into mixed micelles with bile salts and other lipids, and is then transported through the lymphatic system before entering the bloodstream.

Redistribution: Once in the bloodstream, the absorbed CoQ10 is distributed throughout the body via lipoproteins like VLDL, LDL, and HDL. The highest concentrations are found in organs with high energy demands, such as the heart, liver, and kidneys.
